Fun Control
Under våren 2014 påbörjade Fun Control inspelningen av sin debut-EP.
De spår som redan släppts har genererat uppmärksamhet både på
hemmaplan och i brittisk independent-press: “A wondrously nebulous
blend of motorik drum machine minimalism, sci-fi synth workouts, and
wriggling guitars squirming blindfolded from the imagined line of
fire”. Så beskrevs Stockholmskvintetten Fun Controls Trickle-down
Effect på den brittiska musiksajten Dots and Dashes för en tid sedan.
Fun Controls musik rör sig i ett mörkt och melankolisk landskap, med
ekon från åttiotalets post-punk och syntmusik, likväl som från
nittiotalets alternativa rock. Bandet har jämförts med New Order, Echo
& the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave och The Cure.

Fun Control är nu aktuella med sin debut EP. Releasen firas med
spelning på Landet. Missa inte början på något stort!

Your Universe Expands Into Mine


Sometimes it’s best to keep it simple.  Staphan O’Bell might not
agree.   Having finished his debut album earlier this year, he decided
it was not what he had in mind.  It was close but not quite exactly
what he wanted.  So he deleted the whole session.  Months of work
gone.

Staphan is a twentysomething Stockhom musician, who is going public
with his very personal music for the first time.  So it’s important to
get things right.  Sometimes, it’s only when you finish something,
that you know how to start it.  He re-recorded the album in seven days
in April and the songs sound a hundred times more alive now and
bursting with sunshine.

So, back in May, Staphan went ahead with his Album Launch party in
Stockholm, despite having killed his album.   The room was packed out.
So many of his friends had not heard any of this music before.  Word
spread about the album’s demise.  Would anyone ever hear these songs?
Were they any good?  Everyone was nervous.   You can share now in this
moment and judge for yourself.

The show was filmed and the first song Staphan and the band played,
Your Universe Will Expand Into Mine, is also the first track from
Staphan’s forthcoming debut album, Mirror House.
